A pestemal (also spelled as pestemal, or peshtamal) is a large hand-loomed flat-woven towel. It was initially developed for Hammams (Turkish Sauna) wear but later became popular due to its versatility and decorative look. Unlike your regular terry towels, they are incredibly lightweight and dry much quicker—yet just as absorbent and soft. 

Apart from being great bath towels, you can conveniently use them as a beachside or poolside wrap. Its soft and airy texture feels great on your skin, making them ideal for wrapping over your shoulder on cool summer evenings.
